He earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Texas at Austin and then attended medical school at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio where he obtained his Doctor of Medicine degree. In medical school, students are exposed to a variety of medical specialties. It was during this time Dr. Fuqua discovered a passion for psychiatry. He came to believe that through the practice of psychiatry he could have the most profound and lasting impact on patients’ lives. This motivated him to complete psychiatric residency at the University of Texas Health Science at San Antonio. He saw an unmet need for psychiatrists in San Antonio and chose to open a practice in the area following graduation from residency. He remains passionate about improving the lives of his patients and looks forward to working with you individually.
